Hey everyone, my name is Lyman Chen and I am one with a burning passion for Martial Arts! I come from a very diverse background of martial arts consisting of Tae-Kwon-Do, Okinawan Karate, Traditional Shaolin Gong Fu, and Wu-Shu. I currently hold a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and Okinawan Shitoryu as well as holding the title Sempai, or ‘Senior Student’ and I am a junior instructor. Of course, I don’t consider myself as a teacher or instructor, but a coach. I am here not to persuade that one style is better than another or to encourage you to quit your current style to begin a new one but I’m here to share my philosophy on how martial arts is connected to activities in life, share the self defense aspect of different styles and techniques, and much more! Feel free to leave suggestions and other feedback below 🙂

  1. Wow, Lyman! I’m really glad to be able to connect with you via your blog! What a neat way to add a dimension to simply teaching you online! And my! How accomplished you are in your passion of martial arts! Congratulations!!!!!

I have a blog also. Feel free to connect with it. It covers all sorts of issues of life. There is no owner’s manual so we just have to learn as we fumble along. If my lessons can help others, I’m more than willing to let them. Just like I am sure yours will help me!

    • Thank you so much! And yes, I was very impressed with the Frog Form. I’ve actually seen it performed in person, but a different version of course. My favorite thing about WuShu and Kung Fu are the animal forms! I personally perform Tiger and Eagle 🙂
